When does the smoking ban in Wales come into force and how will it affect Guest Houses?

The new law is due to come into force on 2nd April 2007.

The law will require enclosed public places, including workplaces, to be smoke-free. This means you, your staff, customers and visitors will not be allowed to smoke in the enclosed area of your premises.

As far as I know, Wales and N.Ireland start their smoke ban in April 2007. You can check this out at the Welsh Assembley website to be sure. The ban will mean no smoking in public places, pubs, bars, restaurants, cinemas, theatres, meeting halls, churches and HOTELS and GUESTHOUSES.

The only way out of this is to arrange for smoking guests at your Guest House to have access to your garden. There's nothing to stop you putting up an awning to keep off the rain. It's outside see.

At least one major restaurant here in London have had a sliding roof built onto the top of their place so customers will be able to gaze at the stars and smoke while dining in the summer. Just wish I could remember the blessed place. I've a feeling it will be booked up months in advance.

Not sure when it comes's in i know it's 1st of July in England , I'm sure the law will be the same for wales which means no smoking in any public place which will include guest houses.

April 1st,april fools day,I dont think it will affect guest houses do you?

Mind you ,you never know,why cant property owners like them and pubs be allowed to choose wether they want a smoking pub or a non smoking pub and display it on the door,so people have a choice.
