My favorite composer from that time period was Claude Debussy. His most famous musical compositions were ballets such as "Prelude to Afternoon of a Faun". Other famous composers include John Philip Sousa who wrote marches such as "The Stars and Stripes Forever" and Johann Strauss who wrote waltzes such as "The Beautiful Blue Danube". (There is an excellent website devoted to Sousa.)
