I think that some men don't know how to properly express themselves in an affectionate way. They act as if they don't know how to show the woman that they love how they feel. I say just give him space because you can't force him into doing something that he doesn't want to do or he'll just pull away. Good Luck to you and your husband and congratulations on 25 years of marriage.

Some guys don't like to show affection in public. My fiance and I have been together for 15 years and we hold hands everywhere we go, as soon as I get out of the truck he's grabbing for my hand before I can get situated, and I love it. Just talk to him and ask him why. Maybe when he realizes how you feel he'll be more affectionate. It's worth a try.

My ex used to complain about this. I had a simple answer for her. I am tall, and she was reletively short. The natural rythm you have when you walk is hard to keep up when you are holding hands with someone a different size. It just wasn't comfortable.

There are those who do not like PDA at all. While holding hands is generally acceptable PDA, some people just are not comfortable doing it.

If that is the only problem you have with him, I see why you two have made it 25 years. Congrats.

Because it shows possessiveness on your part What you are telling the world is " look he is mine" it is the same way for men that have to hold their girlfriends hand. Your husband knows he is your husband and does not give a d-m if the world knows it or not, . I can guarantee you that if he were to see danger coming your way he would have both hands on you and himself in the harms way, so don't fight the little stuff and go with the flow

I don't know honestly but I think it makes us feel inadequate as a man. I too don't have the need to hold hands just to let someone know I care. I truly believe there is a time and a place for everything (I'm not afraid to be affectionate though). I do not mind a peck or a squeeze but I just don't think hanging onto or holding one an others hand does it. I could be wrong but then I've been wrong before. Thanks for letting me spout off.

Did you husband used to hold your hand? That would have been an important piece of information here. Some men don't like to hold hands because they don't want other people to see them with someone. All I know is that every man I have dated held my hand and my husband always holds my hand. Guess it depends on the man or lack of one. Thanks.

He may feel holding hands is not a manly thing?
In any case he does have a reason why. You need to sit down and talk to him and find out what it is.

If he's not the sitting down kind of person, write him a note or send an email to him.

Public intimacy issues.

Most of the time there parents were exactly the same. They think it makes them less macho or something.

Tell him it turns you on. That's the only reward most guys know.

He probably feels embarrassed. Sometimes it's a hand-me-down trait from parents not to show emotions outside. Can't change him.
