When you're in a hole, quit digging.
Never expect to get more that you give.
Everybody lies. Accept it. So will you.
The only thing you can do is your best.
When you're on top, don't forget to look down. It's where you started, and may end up there again.
And never, never, ever, draw to an inside straight.

I had the worst maternity blues and I hated being a mother for the first few weeks. One of my mom's friends sat down next to me one day and she said... I know this is hell at the moment, but try your best till your baby is 3 months old... I promise things will be MUCH better. I held on to that... and by God was she right!

i don't know if this is the "best" advice i've been given but my dad used to tell me it's azz, cash or grass, nobody rides for free... out there. he's right.
