My boyfriend says that i will like anime, i just have to find the one that's right for me. He watches the ones with constant fighting and gore. Some fighting is ok but i like comedy and drama. Is there a good anime series that i should look into so we can both like anime. I am trying to be interested in something he likes.

There are a few movies that are cute and non-gorey made by Hayao Miyazaki. They are mainly fantasy movies, though. "Naussica of the Valley" is one of my favorites.
Also, "Chobits" was a cute little series.
