The Conveyancers dealing with the sale and purchase of my property are failing to respond to my queries, failing to advise me of updates and have actually updated me on someone else's sale! Who regulates Solicitors and does anyone have any advice?

Thanks for all the answers. I have tried to get information about who to complain to but they don't even give me these details! I am at a crucial point now so it would be costly both financially and timewise to change firms but it isn't out of the question at this point.

I really appreciate the feedback. Thanks

The law society but I don't hold much hope for you. A solicitor lost the deeds to my property which held the sale up for 11 months I couldn't get a penny compensation. They had the deeds for 12 years when they should have been sent to the building society

it may be an idea to firstly write to someone who is a director of the company concerned. go as high up the chain as you can. if this does not work then write to the law society. i am pretty sure they will have a web site just do a google search. if you do go to the law society make sure you copy in the sols concerned on any correspondence that you write.

and if they are as bad as you say - it might be an idea to find somebody new - ask around friends for recommendations.

good luck

nonetheless your solicitor is obviously being held up by way of the different area, he needs to be extra useful in chasing them for ending touch. Firing off emails is lazy and ineffectual. he isn't doing something incorrect as such, he's purely not doing his right for you. for my area i may well be asking him to touch the different area in the present day and ask them outright what the postpone is. If it became into me, i might desire him to try this instantaneous on an identical time as i became into in his place of work. you're able to genuinely touch the criminal Ombudsman yet I doubt if this may well be of plenty use to you, relatively in view of your timescale.
