What does your PC say when it starts up, Windows XP?
right click "my computer" and click properties, it should tell you there.

Operating System or just OS, is the application that runs ur computer, like Microsoft Windows

if you have a Microsoft OS, then click START look for the icon that shows ur computer (as well as your computer name). looks like a desktop with a monitor next to it. Right click on the icon, click on properties, from the new windo under the General Tab, you will see your OS, right under SYSTEM
