Valerium is supposed to calm you down. My mom used to give some to our dog because she was afraid of thunder storms. It seemed to help with her anxiety. People can take it too, and it's natural. A glass of wine works too. Feel better.

Valerian and St Johns wort and Kava kava.
5 HTP and Gaba are also good alternatives...just do not mix them with medications as this can have negative effects. Be aware of medications anyway. A pastor I work with ask me this question: Did you ever see somebody on medication and heal ( he was speaking about anti depression/ anti anxiety and bipolar medications. This boggled my mind....I could not find a person....
Alternatives are EFT and EMDR. What caused the anxiety...what is behind your anxiety. You can get there and be more what you really are. Enjoy every moment.

don't use anti-depressants. those can have bad effects on you. i have been through therapy, and i was told specifically not to use them. also, don't take medicine that will calm you down such as ritalin. if u use them and u don't have ADD or ADHD, its like drinking an entire 2 liter bottle of mountain dew. it just makes you hyper and most likely more anxious. the only way you can fix it is by realizing that your anxiety is completely not real and that its all in your head. also, this may not seem helpful to you, but it always calms me down. take a hot bubble bath at night. if you can, surround yourself with candles on the sides of the tub and/or rose petals inside of the tub. also, use calming lotion. you can buy these lotions at a local Bath & Body Works. they are really helpful. or you can also use Dove Calming Night lotion . that is also good. if you can't find the lotion, it also comes in a bar of soap. another thing you can use is aroma-therapy spray on your pillows and/or blankets at night. i don't exactly know where you can find aroma-therapy spray, but it's out there. hope this helps you.

There is a strong correlation between anxiety/panic disorder and low levels of certain vitamins and minerals. There are several things you can do to restore this balance in your body:

1. Take calcium, magnesium, and b-complex vitamin supplements

2. Avoid refined sugars and carbohydrates, and instead eat foods low in sugar and containing whole grains

3. Avoid coffee, tea, and cola sodas (or any other drinks with caffeine)

4. Avoid alcohol and drugs, as these tend to use up your bodies supply of important vitamins and minerals when your body metabolizes them
