I am not interested in learning about the history and all that. I just want to know why people decide to get married. If you are married, why did you get married? to tell the world? you can do that by just saying so when someone asks you. What is the reason why people get married? why should I get married?

To have guilt free sex. To have children and raise a family, under God. You can not do those things without marriage.

I am actually getting married next year, but I don't think it's something everyone should do. If you don't see the point, then why do it? My personal reasons for getting married is because I'm one of those people who have always wanted to and loves the security of it. Also, I'm a Christian, which is another reason I want to be married. However, I do believe that marriage isn't for everyone. Although I would never want to do it, there are a lot of couples who just live together and start a family but never get married and are fine with it. If it makes you happy never to get married, why care what other people think about it? You don't need a husband to live a happy life.

The reason most people get married is 1-financial, couples stand to gain income to get married 2- commitment, couples want to know that they will be together forever (which in recent trends never works) 3- family, couples want to start a traditional family and have kids.
Noone other than yourself should tell you why you should get married. I advise you talking to your partner and see how they feel and also look within yourself to see if such a commitment would work for you. I wish I could help you more, but this is all I know. I wish you the best of luck!

I had no interest in being married until I met my current boyfriend. my parents had a troubled marriage, and I had the image that marriage was more trouble than it was worth. Then I met my future husband...I want to marry him because he is everything to me, I want him to now how committed I am to him and that he is the only man I want to sit on the front porch with when im 90. Many people get married for the wrong reasons, it takes the right person to make you realize what a special thing being married is.

You shouldn't get married if your not 100% that you want to stay with this man forever. These days I can't see why all these that want to get married, there in love with marriage. You marry someone just to be married no matter who just as long as are married. Wait till honeymoon is over and all hell breaks loose and find that person just wanted so badly to get is a complete abusive, no good man , then you all want to holler. I want a divorce by that time kids are in the picture and to many lives are destroyed just because people are in love with marriage. Live together a couple of years and then see if want to be married and don't get pregnant.

I got married because I love my husband. We had already been together for 8 yrs. and decided that we wanted more. I love being able to call him my husband and tell people that I am his wife. It is not something that is necessary in all cases, but for us it was right. It also lowers insurance, makes you eligible for health benefits under each others plans, puts you in a lower tax bracket, etc. If marriage is not that important to you, then don't get married. Maybe sometime down the line you'll want to. The nice thing is you can always change your mind and decide to plan that wedding.

I do exactly no longer think of that folk take marriage heavily any further. Its so unhappy, i grew to become into mentioned to have faith that a individual is barely as stable as their word and that i stay by using that. I never have been married because of the fact I only have not come for the period of a guy who can save his word! if your substantial different won't have the ability to maintain their promise approximately insignificant issues, how do you suspect that they are going to maintain it with the substantial issues. Divorce is now an daily term and quite straight forward that that's no longer shameful, as is having an affair. God has long gone from maximum peoples lives and the vows they make till now him no longer advise something, I advise howdy! we will not even have the flexibility to stick to ten straightforward regulations he asked us to stick to! we've lost the meaning of love, admire and dedication.

I think it's the euphoria of a romantic and magical wedding. Everyone gets dressed up, you get lots of cool gifts, then spend a few years wondering why in heck you did such a stupid thing.

Like that song from Meatloaf--------
Waiting for the end of time
So hurry up and arrive
Cause if I have to spend another minute with you,
I don't think that I can really survive.
I never break my promise, or forget my vows,
But God only knows what I could do right now,
So I'm praying for the end of time,
So I can end my time with you...................

for me it was that i love my partner so much. It is a declaration to others and a bond between us that states that we have made a commitment for life. I lived with my wife of 7 years before we got married and it changed our relationship for the better.

"legally" a marrage license is proof that you are married. You can never prove that you are not married. It proves that you and that man share expences, insurance and was intended for starting families with all the same last names to identify mother and father and all that kinda sh*t.
