I'm trying to build my 1st PC using a ASUS A8V Deluxe motherboard. When I use my power supply tester, all of my components work fine. When I plug into the MB and hit the switch - nothing happens!! The LED on the MB is ON but still I got nothing. I'm about to sell my components and scrap the project - PLEASE HELP, WHAT'S WRONG?!?

You must have the cables coming from the case setup wrong on the motherboard. You might be mixing the cables for the power button with reset button. This seems to be a common problem

One thing that I would check is whether you have the power switch connected to the motherboard correctly. You might also remove all extra components except for the CPU & Fan and Power Supply and see if it will start powering up (ofcourse you won't have any video, but atleast you'll know it's starting up). If that works, start plugging in components one by one to try and narrow down a bad component.

Good luck

Be sure you have RAM installed before trying to power up. Make sure you have ALL the power connectors plugged in to the MB and also make sure you've doubled checked your power switch connection to the MB. Also be sure than your CPU fan is hooked up to the right onnector. Start with just the bare minimum (MB, RAM and CPU) and add from there. Good luck.

Your motherboard uses TWO power supply plugs, one like a 20 pin plug and another 4 pin one, are they both plugged in?

Do you have a large enough power supply for all of your components? The computer will not even start POST (power on self test) if you have insufficient power to your computer.

SpyLocked is a rogue anti-secret agent ware application. it really is meant to trick you and make you receive the easily secret agent ware. What I propose is that you get rid of the secret agent ware once a threat, previously issues get any worse. you are able to experiment your pc and get rid of it manually, or pay to get rid of it. be careful by potential of eliminating it manually, any blunders can decrease to rubble your gadget even more effective.

"Cory P" (first answer) is right on the money ....

If all is as should be sometimes just reseating all the components does it as well.
