I have tried several times to quit but always end up starting back again. I have gone 1 year without but just can not shake the cravings.

Find other things you enjoy to substitute when you have a craving, I drink tea when I want a dip. I also play with toothpicks to ease the pain.

Well this might sound like a lie and kinda gross but it worked for me and my buddy. He dipped about a log of Copenhagen every week and a half, and I was moving up to a log every 2 weeks. We found that swallowing the spit was easy but not the dip itself so he came up with an idea. We both bought brand new tins and ate it like candy swallowing the entire contents. We both threw up for around an hour but after the initial sickness neither one of us can even smell it anymore. I have been dip free for 8 years and have never looked back.

I dipped for five-six years. I haven't had one for about three months now. I chew sun flower seeds, gum, hard candy. Besides the nicotine craving there also is a oral fixation. Just keep things in your mouth, i.e. toothpicks.
