Do you mean aside from burning itself out? Well, first, it will in fact burn itself out in about 4 billion years when it runs out of hydrogen fuel. Other than that, there is no easy way to destroy the sun. I suppose a black hole could rip it apart, or another larger star passing close by could rip it apart. Remember that the sun is about 1,000,000 times the size of the Earth -- that's a pretty big thing to destroy. Anyway, I don't think any scientist forsees a black hole or other star coming close enough to the Sun to destroy it any time in the next several billion years.

In around 5 Billion years from now, look for the Sun to start expanding...It will swell up in size big enough to engulf Mercury, Venus and possibly Earth. Then it will contract in size and eventually end up a Brown Dwarf...The Sun is not massive enough to go Nova or turn into a Nuetron Star or Black Hole...

When it starts to contract, it may leave some of the outer layers of gas out in orbit and crate a Planetary Nebula, but that's probably all the excitement that's going to happen...

Of course, Superman could move the Sun if anything came too close to destroy it...

The Sun could be destroyed at any time by a collision with a small black hole.

This must be very unlikely, however, because we have never seen this happen to any of the stars in the Milky Way.

Well it will be destroyed one day - all stars eventually die (supernova) ! But I very much doubt it would be within the near future! Its about halfway through its lifespan now and its existed for billions of years already.

Despite what scientists claim the sun is a glass bal filled with fire 500 feet above the surface of the earth. It could be destroyed with one shot from a cannon.

The day it get destroyed we wont be there to see it completely. The only way to destroy sun is by making it move towards a black hole. The black hole will suck the sun in.

No. Unless a black hole sucked it up or wait billions of years for it to deplete it's fuel.
