This is NOT for people that were served with divorce papers. I was wondering how many people have regretted filing for divorce? Should you have stayed and tried to work it out?

We tried everything before we finally just realized that divorce was the only option left, other then murder..lol...

We filed ourselves, together. No regrets!

Never regretted it. I live in a small apartment, as she stayed in the house. I am paying her child support even though the kids are with me 1/2 the time. Financially, it has been a real strain to get by. But, above all of that, I am 100X happier than I was when I was in that marriage.

While I agree there are probably some people who jump to the divorce too quickly. I know I made every attempt to work out the impossible. We were one of the few that a counselor actually told should get divorced.

So, nope, no regrets.

no don't regret filing for the divorce at all. I gave our relationship 3 try's I mean I had left 3 times before over the years and everytime time I said lets give another try and make things work he would promise that he would do better and make things work, that would last about a week or two and go back to like it was so the last time I went back I said if I had to leave again it would be the last cause there is so much you can take til you break and take it anymore.I will aleays have a place for him in my heart but couldn't live like that way anymore. But I don't regret it one bit.

Sadly, I have been divorced twice. My first husband, father of our 2 children, met a woman online and decided he wanted a relationship with her. I filed...do I regret it? NO.
My second husband left me 3 times in 9 months. He left me the last time just 3 days before our anniversary. I filed for divorce. I would not, and could not, allow him to keep mistreating me that way. Do I regret it? I don't regret standing up for myself. But, I love him and miss him. I miss the man he was...not the man he now is. I think a lot of people jump into divorce. They keep the thought in the back of their mind that they can always just get a divorce. I WANTED to be married forever. I wanted that love of a lifetime. But I also want to be treated as a human being, as part of their heart. I didn't get that from either of them.

I don't regret filing for divorce. I wish I had done it years earlier instead of waiting like I did. Sometimes there is no working it out no matter what. If you are unhappy, just get out of the relationship and move on with your life. In the long run it will be better for everyone concerned.

I regret not filing for divorce earlier than I did... the fact that I did stay those extra years and tried to work it out is what still bothers me, even to this day!

In my case I asked for a separation, which he asked to turn it into a simple dissolution.I didn't see any way of trying to work it out by this point. We both tried before it came to a divorce at different times but it just wasn't going to work. All love was gone!!!

My divorce was great. We actually hugged each other in the courtroom and the judge said it was the "nicest" divorce he ever presided over. We knew it was time to quit and we approached it that way. We are still friends, too.
