An MLB roster size varies after August 31 of each year. During the first five months of the season, it's 25. After August 31, it can up to 40.

But the roster size in MLB isn't necessary the roster size in other leagues.

And then there's the fact that each side has 3 outs per inning, but under normal circumstances, the first through 8th innings have both a top and a bottom of the inning. There won't be a bottom of the ninth inning if the home team is leading after the top of that inning. And if a game goes to extra innings, the only way the home team can win is if it goes ahead in the bottom of an inning. This can be with none, one or two out.

Without further information, your question can't be answered.

31?, 46?, 15?, 16? any could work depending on the situation and time of year during the MLB season and what league AL or NL. I think you are looking for 15.
