It sounds like the problem may be with settings on your computer. Try downloading a speed patch that adjusts your registry settings and turn off any third party firewalls (just long enough to see if that's the problem).

I thought upgrading from Option1 to Option3 wouldnt make any difference to your speed. Isnt this governed by the wiring inyour house, how far you are from the exchange etc
BT allows you to do a speed test to determine your speed

i dont do my bb with bt as particular it used to b with them and my bb went up approximately virtually 3 hundred quid 1 / 4 so i pass with yet another bb and pay bt seperate now works out greater value-effective with loose calls night and wkends

It really depends on how fast your connection was before you upgraded. when i upgraded my speed went from 1152 to 3752 but it goes up and down just now its 2880
