Go on the Coach website, I believe they have instructions and products you can buy to use.

If you do not have saddle soap (can buy at an equine supply store) then use a drop of Murphy oil soap on a lightly dampened sponge. You don't want it very wet. Use circular motions and just go over it outside of the leather. It works great to clean and condition/preserve the leather. Won't make the leather harden when it dries. Also LEXOIL works well too. Just follow the direction on the container.

I have used these product for years on all my leather from expensive saddles and bridal to my own coach bags and shoes.
Just remember don't get them wet ..just lightly damp. Let the sponge do the work. Not alot of pressure...almost like you were putting cream on your skin.
The leather might chage color or darken while it is damp, but it will restore to normal when completely dry.

I'd go to a dry cleaner that lists cleaning leather as one of their specialties. There are special procedures for cleaning leather so make sure they know what they are doing. A Coach bag is too nice and too expensive to mess around with. Think how sad you'd be if it was ruined.

the coach store sells leather cleaner for about $8.00. you could pick some up. Or maybe ask the to clean it for you some are nice and they'll do it but some can be snobby. so good luck.
