There's a huge difference between pedophile, rapist, and sex offender. They just lump them in 1 categorize cuz who cares? Although I do think it's harmful and a waste of tax money prosecuting a 18 yr old boy for sleeping with his 16 yr old girlfriend. Teens having sex is scary, but it's a fact of life.Doesn't every sophomore or junior girl hope to catch the eye of a hot senior? Why send a 18 yr old boy to jail, possibly ruining his life before it began?

Where ever he moves to, the neighbors should not be notified. That only happens for Level III offenders, which are the most violent and most likely to repeat. He will still need to register with the local law enforcement.

A very similar situation happened to someone I know. I trust him completely around my kids, but won't leave him alone with them. It's not that he will try anything. If his PO found out, he could go back to jail for it.

You would think a guy would try to get to know someone before sleeping with them, I guess there is no judgement in my sex. Yes, it is not fair that your friend received a hard hand, but age is very important and when entering a relationship with someone you don't know needs to be done carefully.

If there is any doubt, keep it out!

Its usually pretty easy to tell if someone is 16 if you actually speak to them for 10 minutes.
