Every Mexican would immediately become a US citizen. It would solve the illegal immigration problem. They are flowing across the border like water anyway!

Not racist at all! I think putting up a giant fence and trying to keep out poor people who just want a better life is racist!

I agree. it would work both ways in both solving the immigration issue "over time" and also rebuilding Mexico running out (most) of the black markets there like the sex trade, drugs, illegal doctors, ect.
It would take some time to get every person to register for taxes, thats why if it happened I would imagine it would start with the current population of children there being given citizenship.
It will never happen most likely for the fact that they want to keep most of the things we wouldn't allow and also be able to work without paying taxes to our government. There are some bad apples like anywhere else who just want to take advantage of the system. Also our health care is already strained so badly.
I think it could make the place very beautiful and the resorts would flourish more with a safer feeling. If they truly want to be a part of our country it would be the best thing over time for everyone. It would just depend on how much they wanted the change.
I don't think your question is racists like most of the jerks here would. It is a problem to a man who works on a timeclock who is competing against others who will work for a fraction of what the job is worth. Construction workers do hard labor and the job will not ever peak in its salary if people keep sneeking through the system. I hear the discussion about how they do the jobs noone else will do, wrong they do the jobs cheaper because they don't pay taxes. Because they can do this, job sites WON"T pay what the job is worth. Period.
Health Care and law enforcement get stretched by people who won't register by the system. We are the land of the free but in order for everyone to enjoy liberties there has to be certain rules to follow otherwise the system will fail.
Its really funny that people don't want you to put up a border fence because its not PC, but they also don't want the idea of Mexico as a state because its not PC. They do want everyone to be happy in some magical way that allows Mexico to continue in its failing economy while allowing illegal immigrants to traffic into our system.

whether this petition is genuinely or no longer this exhibits an incredible sign of how a lot of human beings sense. So what if a state desires to secede we've that good to objective to despite we are able to to make our lives greater valuable. besides the reality that the president did win the election no longer all human beings needed that. there is not any longer something we are able to do touching directly to the election now yet whilst a petition helps human beings sense greater valuable and probably get something out of this then by using all skill we could perform a little signing. human beings choose human beings because of the fact they're "dumb rednecks" as you call them... nicely i only wanna say one ingredient i'm from a small usa city in Tennessee and get in touch with me a dumb redneck all you want it wont replace the way i nor the human beings sense. in case you cant answer the question without judging or asserting beside the point issues then do no longer answer the question. I for one do no longer understand what it may advise to secede or maybe whether that's obtainable. I HATE analyzing dumb comments that are beside the point whilst i could want to renowned the answer to the question to hand. thank you... and sorry for the fake answer i only mandatory to enable human beings understand a thank you to be mature and be quite whilst desire be....

Ha ha! I think your idea is pretty funny. Very creative. It would not solve the problem, theoretically, because then you'd just have immigrants from Central America flowing across the Mexican border like water. Besides, Canada might be a better goal. They have better natural resources. I used to tease a Canadian friend of mine all the time about THEM being the 51st state!
Then there is this argument:
"The immigrants are raising my taxes, taking our jobs, and forcing us to help their poor. Boo-hoo-hoo."
I'm pretty sick of that sad, selfish excuse to discriminate against immigrants. If the people who felt that way (and there were many of them) had won that debate in the 19th and early 20th century, most of us white folks would not be here. People said the same b.s. about Irish and Eastern European immigrants back in the day. Guess what? Most of the people whining about the immigrants today are descendents of people who went through the same thing that hispanic immigrants are going through now.
I have this to say about that: we're the United States of America. We're tough. We're adaptable. We are also very wealthy compared to every other country in the world. Are the anti-immigrant people saying that America can't handle the influx of immigrants? We're not good enough to do it? What a shame. I would think those people would have more faith in the awesome ability and generosity of the American people.

Only the people with no money, no education, and with big families are coming across the border. You will not find Mexicans with money and education that want to live in this Country. They like their country.

Despite the fact that they even share the same culture and history, many in West Germany were pissed about being reunited with East Germany because East Germany sucked up their tax dollars and dragged their country down as a whole.
Imagine that, except worse.
