Why do so many people here hate liberal views. Especially since they don't understand liberal views.

Every few minutes there is another post. "Why do liberals want to kill babies...?" "Why do liberals want to help terrorist...?" "Why do liberals want to worship Satan...?" and so on.

I know we all have different views and that is fine but if around here there seems to be a very strong anti-liberal vibe. Does anyone know why?

Dumb Blonde ... I think both sides are guilty of "flaming" other users here. There are several reasons why this happens:

1 - Some users are utterly dumb.
2 - The chance to be anonymous invites people to do and say things they'd NEVER say to your face. With almost no restraints, they take advantage and say all kinds of dumb and inappropriate things.
3 - If people cannot think of a way to defend their position, they try to "slam" and demonize their opponent.

If everyone offering an answer had to post their full name and address along with a photo of themselves, they'd think a lot harder before saying the many dumb things we see being written here. Don't you think?

By the way ... Your question is a good one AND well-written; I don't think you're a dumb blonde at all. Maybe you should change your ID. Well, it's up to you. I hope my answer threw some light on this issue.

Thanks and good luck.

They don't have any arguments left. They completely got their way for six years, a fascist president, militarist policies, the right to call America their 'Homeland', lower taxes, corporatist governance, government sanctioned religion, and plenty of encouragement to hate brown people.

And where did it get them? They hate everything even more now than they used to. Themselves, humans, the planet, the government, culture, you name it. If it's not a weapon, xenophobia or kitch culture they hate it.

Basically, every minute we spend thinking about what is bad with liberals, we are not looking at how all their favorite ideas are about to start World War III and collapse the global economy.

This is why propoganda should be illegal.

Fox News should be on the air, they should just not be allowed to call it 'journalism', 'reporting', or 'fair and balanced.' It should come with a warning and a disclaimer after every commercial, 'The views herein do not change even when verified contradictory evidence is available, which makes it propaganda. Propaganda has been known to harm children, pregnant women, logical minds, and marmosets. Do not vote based upon this information. This recording has been reformatted to fit your television.'

If you are going to make propaganda morally, you can't try to trick people into thinking it's journalism. Tricking your fellow citizens into thinking propaganda is journalism should be an act of treason.

The absence of such laws is my answer for where 'this liberal hate' comes from.

To be fair I should state that I am a liberal. Now let me point out that the hateful divisiveness is encouraged by many people on both sides of the philosophical/political fence. Unfortunately the current administration has strongly encouraged this divisiveness in order to garner public support for their views and stifle any vocal opposition. The President and Vice President has alluded to, and the vice President has actually said that those who oppose this administrations stances of the war and their domestic eavesdropping programs are in effect giving comfort to ou enemies.

Sadly far too many citizens (again on both sides) have fallen prey to the rhetoric of divisiveness. In truth the terrorists can only hurt us so much. True they can attack us. Such attacks are devastating and difficult to understand. However, these attacks cannot hope to topple us, change who we are or weaken us. This can only be done through within. There is no better tool to weaken us from within than divisiveness. It weakens us in a way that our enemies could not even dream of.

We should have spirited debate of political ideas. Mature political discourse is healthy for us. However, when we discard that for the rhetoric of divisiveness we, in truth do give comfort and aid to our enemies. Sadly, a large number of the answers you received are perfect examples of immature divisive discourse.

Sorry about the long answer.

Maybe consevatives are a bit stressed out given Bush has a lowly 30% approval rating. Occasionally it seems that their lovely war in IRAQ ain't going real well. Some would argue not one thing that Bush, Cheney, & Rumsfeld have done in Iraq has worked. You have to excuse Steven H. he can't read so good, totally missed your question. I think Tony and Fast Eddie got it right. PS I am very guilty of bashing cons here, Yahoo has me on probation in fact. I was just have fun with cons with mean questions.

Read Michelle Malkin's excellent book "Unhinged". It is an eye opener. Most of the hatred I have observed is coming from sources like Michael Moore, Al Franken, Air America, Ward Churchill, and their ilk, and much of the really hateful rhetoric and questions on this web site are directed in large part towards the "rednecks" and Christians and neo-cons and so on. I think extremists on both sides are at fault and should be 'filtered' to remove the truly senseless and objectionable material.

Rush Limbaugh, Michael Savage, Ann Coulter...

They've drilled it into the heads of their audience that Liberal = Enemy.

Some of these people are so brainwashed they can't see that we all have the best interest of the country at heart, and we're all doing what we think is right.

It's not just about liberals, it happens to conservatives.

It does seem like lib-haters post more questions, though.

Education breeds liberalism. Statistically, the more education a person has, the more socially and politically liberal they are likely to be.

Ironically, that's all the information you and I need to answer your question, but most conservatives might need more explanation.

wow your name says it all. Sorry, I couldnt resist. Anyway, In my opinion it works both ways. I see alot of conservatives getting shelled by liberals who think they have the answer to everything and convey the message that they are smarter than everyone. Try writing a conservative question and see what kind of answers you get. If everyone respected one anothers opinion or lack of, it would be a kinder world. Why cant we just live our lives without petty arguments about issues that are not life threatening. I dont believe it will ever happen but its a nice dream.

I would love to know the answer to this as well. And if they could explain the contradiction between wanting the government to be less involved, and at the same time thinking the government should have the right to decide what goes on in our bedrooms, who we should marry, and what women can and can't do with their own bodies... that would be great.
