There are 5 kinds or vista, choose the right one for you, details on there site. Office 2007 is seperate, if you already have XP you can buy a cheaper vista "upgrade"

As a rule if you buy a boxed or retail version of any Microsoft operating system, their office program is not included.
With their latest "Home and Student Edition" of vista the cost was $128.99 on amazon before I submitted this answer. The "Ultimate" edition was well over $370
Their Professional edition of the office suite from 2003, was a staggering $379.99.

I firmly believe that Vista is Microsoft's last chance to improve their operating system and reduce the huge number of inherent flaws that have troubled the os for so many years. One only has to look at the thousands of updates and fixes to critical security flaws that have been released over the last few years.
Is $800 worth a few widgets and an internet browser that is less capable than the already available "Firefox". In my opinion the answer is a resounding no. I don't know that I could live with myself if this new os turned out to really be no better than the "Millenium Edition" debacle of a few years past.
Not only is the price of installing Vista overwhelming, but most users will also need to upgrade their computers hardware just to be able to use it.
With such an extravagant price-tag I would rather purchase a new mac-mini with their integrated office and multimedia suites and save a few hundred dollars.
So in the end, for me, I couldn't live with myself if I wasted so much money on something that is as yet totally unproven to even be reliable and safe.

Microsoft has never, ever released a full version of Office along with Windows. Lately, with Windows XP, you got a 30-Day trial period, which I'm assuming is the same as Vista.

No, Office is not included with Vista. The computer tech I trust and have used for years said he wouldn't use or sell Vista for at least another 6-8 months. I've trusted his judgment for years, so I'll trust him on this one, also.

Haven't heard a single positive remark on Vista yet. Although I'm a seasoned Windows user and programmer, I am seriously thinking about migrating to Linux.

I reccomend buying vista already installed on the computer. It does not make sense to buy an older model and upgrading the new software.
