It is possible to have a natural birth after a c-section BUT, be aware of some complications that could arise (eg: your scar could burst open again, but it may not happen, depending on the birth)... Speak to the person delivering your baby about it... they'd be able to tell you more.

CONGRATS AND GOOD LUCK!

My first child was a c-section because she was a breech baby (never put her head down) - my second natural - unless you have a medical condition and/or your child is in some type of danger because of a medical condition that you might have - then you should be able to have natural birth - BUT under New York State Law - once you have a c-section - you are able to "choose" another c-section with your second child - therefore, you have the option. But if no complications, then you could go natural. Good Luck -

Yes it is possible. Depends on why you had a c-section the first time and how the incision was made.
My wife had a c-section with all 3 of our girls, but after the first one she tried for natural birth with #2, but it didn't work. The reason for her c-section has more to do with her pelvic bone structure being too small, so the baby couldn't come out. But if you had to have a C-section for other reasons, it is possible to have VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarian)
Don't let people scare you... there are risks, but the risks can be minimized by a good doctor.

I had a c-section for my first and asked the same question. My doctor said he would rather I have another c-section (which is what I wanted to hear). However, I have seen reports that women can do a natural birth after c. My doctor said he would have backed me up if that's what I chose.

You should check with your doctor. Most doctors don't like to deliver naturally after a C-section due to scar tissue and the risk of re-injuring your first cut. But there are doctors who will take the risk you just have ask.

Research VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarian). It used to be that once you had section you had to have one for subsequent pregnancies. This is no longer the case. Ask your doctor about his/her policy on VBACs. Some medical groups don't allow them. Thankfully mine does and he knows this is what I want to try for. Best of luck!

I've known ladies whose first deliveries were through c-section but have afterward had natural birth.

depends on certain things like how your incision was done and what your dr recommends. I had a c-section with my first and had to have a c-section with my 2nd and will have to have one with anymore kiddos I may have. discuss your options with your dr
