The Big Brother incident was bullying, and I think the Welsh are sensible enough to take teasing in an ad clearly designed to be funny. They can dish it out when need be without being as nasty as the dreaded Jade.
By this logic, every time we see a Pot Noodle ad when an English person doing something silly or talking in a silly way, should we be be claiming that is racist (the owners of Pot Noodles are probably foreign anyway)?
I happen to think the Welsh accent is nicer than my English one (I have Welsh and Irish, and English heritage)

it's illogical I guess, but it makes more sense if you see it in context.
there's a history of people imitating accents, using epithets, etc, in order to reinforce a view that the group in question is worthless. If there is a hint that the pot noodle advert is keying into some historical prejudice of that sort, then it's wrong. In the case of Indian accents, there is plenty of history (Bernard Manning, etc) and it's extremely difficult to really dissociate from that. That's what determines when something is offensive or not.
But any practice or word can be rehabilitated by the group in question. A lesbian friend of mine claims to be completely happy to be called a "dyke". That's her choice; as far as I'm concerned, she's rehabilitated the word. It wouldn't have been my place to do that, however.

That advert makes me squirm, it's embarrassing. But it does appear to be Welsh people doing it. They're showing what a great sense of humour they have, laughing at themselves...
Do the Welsh hate it? If so, I'll see it as something else to complain about!

the indian accent was not the most offensive racial thing that happened, anyway they were more jealous bullys than racist and the press ran with the headlines rather than continue with the real debate about what is or is not racist!
people will always make fun out of accents, maybe the pot noodle ad is racist but some cultures are more acceptable to make fun of than others, This is probably not right either!!!

Perhaps, it all started when Jade's mother started calling Shilpa just "Indian". That was offencive. But I do not really think Jade herself was a racist but rather silly and stubborn and she does not know when to stop when arguing. Her "pals" were more arrogant than Jade herself.
But many English people make fun out of foreign accents: Russian, French, German etc. Even though, half of the English population should take elocution lessons, as you can not understand them. Anyway...

Didn't you know, if it's done against white people that is absolutely fine - generally known as double standards. That is why Shilpa was able to make fun of the english accent in the house and Jermaine was allowed to call Jade and Jackie white trash - do it to them and there is outrage - if you were to judge them by the standards Danielle, Jo and Jade - Shilpa and Jermaine are racists.
