If you haven't notices. Most of the oil comes from countries that hate or dislike us. Count the friendly ones on your finger.

Don't know if you noticed but most of the oil is controlled by organizations/nations outside of the country - Russia, Saudi Arabia, China, Mexico etc....so given that what does "the government" have to do with it?

Oil is a product purchased world wide and oil companies and the U.S. government have almost no control over price. If demand drops so does the price, demand increases so does price. You my friend are driving up the price of oil by driving your car.

lol, there are some people you just can't edcuate. Oil companies and the government have nothing to do with you high oil prices. Go back to school learn something about supply and demand and then look at where our oil comes from, then look at the Kennedy and the Kerry family who owns more Oil and profits from oil than even Bush!.....Moron!

I wonder if the other fellow knows that Halliburton is a contract driller..... Doubtful.

The government doesn't set oil prices. Tell me is Bush a copper man? A zinc man? An aluminum man?

And gas prices are LOW. $7.56/mmBtu? You think that's high???? In January?????

@Kim.....Wrongo! Subsidy is funds given, a tax smash is funds no longer taken. Mobil Oil has paid approximately 35 billion in taxes over the final 4 years. yet I do comprehend that may no longer sufficient on your liberals.

You're an ignorant . Gas prices are expensive because of the higher demand from China and India.

Ask your democrats friends in congress, why the wont let oil companies to drill in Alaska or to build more refiniries.

By spending money (your gas money) to get an oil man elected as president. He pays them back with huge tax breaks that they fail to pass on to the consumers.

You are way off. Oil companies are not in the government.

As long as Bush is in office, oil companies ARE the government.
