My darling's uncle is mean to his wife, just the other night i went to visit him with my significant other, and his uncle actually he insults his wife in front of me, act like he's the boss and threatened to hit her if she disobeys. I can feel her embarassment and its her pride for goodness sake!!! I am a woman so i can feel her discomfort. Maybe its not my business to interfere, maybe she did something that broke his trust or whatever, but seeing that scene frightens me.

The thing is, my darling and his uncle is super close, and i am concerned that he might follow his ways and become like his uncle!! My bf is the sweetest but i just can't help feeling concerned.

Qn is:

Shd i ask him why his uncle behaves that way or just mind my own business? I mean who knows if he's going to be my future husband, i have the right to know, right?

Without being critical of the favorite uncle, ask your darling what he thinks about how unc treats his wife. If you get a satisfactory answer from that question him further as to whether HE would ever be like that. You DO have a right to know. How is his Dad? Is he like the uncle? And how RUDE to do that to her in front of a virtual stranger!

Yes, you have every right to know. Ask your "darling" why his uncle is like that. Also make it understood that if you and he ever did get hitched then the first time he lays a hand on you then you will not only divorce him but charge him with assault. If he loves you he should respect your opinion about his family regaurdless who they are. It's always better to be open and honest with eachother about everything especially before you get married. Because after ya'll get married whatever problems you have with eachother, pet peeves, quirks, etc. will be 10 times worse. Trust me

Why not ask your bf if His Uncle always treat his wife that way. If he says yes, ask him WHY! and ask him if HE thinks that is the right way to treat another human being , let alone his own wife!

i think that u should tell ur honey that u dont want to go over there if u have to watch all that maybe he will tell his unc to act right at least while u r there.but u cant do anything about "their" relationship tho, ive always stayed outta ppls drama but if u start to see signs that ur honey is becoming like that u need to put him in check! QUICK ! and if he doesnt changethen leave, but i think that he wouldnt approve of treating u like that tho or else he already would b! but u should definately have a discussion with him about "their" situation AND good luck if u wanna chat IM me ~~~~~~~~ shannon

OF COURSE U SHOULD ASK HIM!!! YOU ARE TOGHETHER. SO IF THERE IS SMTH THAT CONCERNS YOU, IT SHOULD CONCERN HIM TOO! AFTER ALL YOU ARE A TEAM AND YOU SHOULD DEAL WITH YOUR PROBLEMS TOGETHER. YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE. ON THE CONTRARY- YOU MIGHT EVEN FIND OUT A LOT ABOUT YOUR B/F-LIKE HIS ATTITUDE OVER HIS UNCLE'S BEHAVIOUR, HIS POINT OF VIEW ON THE ROLE OF THE HUSBAND AND WIFE IN A MARRIAGE ETC. JUST TALK TO HIM! Yes you do. As a modern woman who does not follow 3 steps behind her man you deserve an answer. Such boorish behavior will stop when it is explained that kind of behavior is not allowed in the year 2007!

ask him what he think of his uncle and his marraige, does he agree with how his uncle treat his wife. what ever you do, do not attack his uncle, he obviouslu likes him and respect him. after find out where he stand then you can decide from there. on another note, men will treat you nice in the beginning of any relationship, it's a part of the custom.

I would ask him why his uncle does it and see his reaction and how he feels about it. Tell him no man will ever hit and control you and if thats what he needs than you best move on.

Of course you should have conversationS about the matter. You should esp. ask him why his uncle is so violent and what does he think about that and has he ever talked to his uncle about his unacceptable behavior.

Yes, ask! You have a right to ask when it might concern you and your feelings and happiness. That's just wrong and mean. Hopefully he DOESN'T turn out like that!
