Ive been with my boyfriend for about a year and things are great between us. We seem to get closer and closer with time. I recently had to quite my job because I needed a full time employment. The problem is that I hate my job and I mean hate. I used to love my old job, so it’s been very hard for me to adjust. Well, to make a long story short my boyfriends’ boss offered me a job. I’m a little hesitant to take it because id be working with my boyfriend and I don’t want to mess things up between us. He says its going to be great but im really not sure.

I was kind of in the same situation, my boyfriend and I have been together 2 years, after moving out of state and having a hard time finding jobs, I fell into a great opportunity and he sent his resume in as well. As it turns out, we did not end up working together, however I WISH that we did, or at least closer to each other.

Is this a small or large company? If it is large, maybe you could ask if you could work in a different department or building even. My boyfriend and I love being together and can't stand being apart, so working together would have worked for us. but if you have a tendancy to need alone time I wouldnt suggest it. We have found that it works best to meet at home for lunch on the days that I am close to his work (I travel around the area) but we miss each other when we can't see each other all day. With our upcoming move back to our home state we are definitely looking for nearby jobs, possibly even the same company.

My bf's parents have been in a happy marriage for over 25 yrs and have worked together for 20 of them, not in the same department, but in the same building. And they couldnt be happier.

It depends on your own feelings, and your relationship. What works for some people may not work for others

Well I would say if there are other options, then you should check those out. Sometimes no matter how much you love a person you have to get some away time just to keep your sanity. If you all will not be working closely together than maybe its a good idea to accept the position. You could carpool and take lunch together.

If you two are close and like to be together all the time, it might be a good thing. I work with my husband and we both love it, but we really enjoy each other's company. If you're a preson who needs your space from time to time, it might not be a good idea.

I met my husband at our work place and it was great. We had secret codes and we talked freaky to each other all the time, it was so much fun. Don't worry about space, I am sure that you guys might have different schedules. You can have luch together too.

Not unless you want to ruin it between you. The only way it will work is if both of you leave your personal lives at home and just come to work as co-workers.

My fiance and I worked together and we both loved it. We were able to commute together and have lunch together if we wanted. We have both since left the job but it was a great experience.

It's never a good idea to work for family, with a spouse or a boyfriend.

Don't do it...I know exactly how you feel because I was in the situation before. If you want your relationship to last don't take the job.
