I worked with Autistic children for many years. I highly doubt you are truly Autistic, you may have some behaviors which can be confused with obsessive compulsive behavior like eating all of one thing on your plate before touching another, you may have to stick to a strict regiment/schedule or it freaks you out. If you were truly autistic, you would not like physical contact like touching, would not deal well with large crowds, would be in a special class in school. You more than likely would not be able to communicate very well , if at all. You will not die from autism, however, autistic children have died from "pica" associated with autism, i.e. putting things in their mouth and swallowing. Had an autistic child in class that would pick things up off the floor , like crayons , paper, paperclips, thumb tacks, etc and swallow them. I suggest that you talk to your counselor in school to ease your mind.

As vivib said, you can not die from autism anymore than someone can die from dyslexia.
But people on the lower range of the autism spectrum (obviously not you considering the fact you can communicate) don't have an appropriate sense of danger, therefore could die from eating tacks, running into a crowded street, or such.
My nephew, Dominic, was autistic. He would lick anything, including a raw chicken we had out getting ready to cook. He also loved to chew on electrical cords. May of 2005, he got out of the yard & found the creek before anyone managed to find him. He had just turned 4.
This is nothing for you to worry about. You apparently are well on the upper end of the spectrum. (like Asperger's)

No you can't die from Autism. But are you sure you are Autistic, or is you mom just telling stories? Your questions is very well written, and using yahoo answers to ask a question about you impeding death is not something typically displayed in an autistic person.

No you cannot. Autism is a developmental disorder and has nothing to do with your physical health. Besides, the fact that you communicated so well in your question tells me that if you have it, you have a very mild form of it. Don't worry.
