My Afican Chichlid is Orange and White. I need to know the name of the fish. With how to take care information. Other details would be most helpful too.

Need some more info:
How big is he? Is he a baby or an adult?
What are his colours like - dark, bright, pale, dull?
Does he have stripes? What colour is his head and what colour are his fins?
Does he like caves?
Is he fat and stocky, or long and flat?
How much did he cost and where did you get him?

A picture would be helpful, and you can also try contacting the store you got him from and asking them.
Also, not to be a pain, but it is really important to your research before buying fish, so you can have their tank properly setup, minimizing stress and death and illness.

i do not know the name but, I have three african cichlids myself. They are great fish. They are very territorial so be careful when adding other cichlids because they will kill ea. other. I learned that from experience. they like to be able to hide and dig. I have rocks set up like caves in mine that they hang out in as well as artificial plants. They will rearrange the tank as they see fit. I do a 20% water change every week and feed them cichlid food 2 times a day only enough to finish or else the water will get nasty. They also need a lot of room b/c they can get big. The last thing I do is keep the water temp around 70-75 degrees. Hope this helps!

Orange and white? African? Sounds like you recieved and OB Zebra. Treat this fish as you would any other Mbuna cichlid. Spirulina flake as a diet. Clean water(as in any fish). These fish can grow 4"+ depending on what was used as parents. Your fish is prolly a hybrid. Please donot mix with other tropical fish. Your fish "can" be aggressive. Lots of rocks in the tank and good filtration. African cichlids are the best. BTW a 40g+ tank is advised if you plan on keeping more than 1 Mbuna. Otherwise a 20g will suit just 1.
