Okaaaaay, here's the deal.
Last night, after work, I go out to the garage and get in my car, like always. I put the key in the ignition, it cranked... but nothing happened. I called my uncle, because he gave me the car, and he's a master mechanic, so he should know what's going on, right? Wellllll.. being three states away doesn't help with diagnosising things.
He says it's possible I flooded the engine, so to hold down the gas pedal while turning the key for 10-15 seconds. I did this, and everything died. Prior to that, the lights and radio were fine.
Now, when I turn the key, all I hear is a rapid series of clicks. The lights won't go on, the wipers don't work, and the windows don't move. Heck, the locks don't even work.
I know that's indicitive of the battery, but was that the main problem to begin with, or did my over-zealous cranking just kill it? Pretty please help? :)

Before you can go any further you will need a jump start. You will need a friend nd GOOD jumper cables. Hook up the red to the positive battery terminals and the black to the negative battery terminals. Now wait for about 5 min and now try starting your car. Do not step on the gas. I am sure you have fuel injection and the cars computer will know what to do. If everything is OK your Car should start right up. I think you battery may be weak. In modern cars you need a fully charged battery to make everything work. If you live in a cold climate The Battery's power (cold cranking amps) will be diminished. I hope that it is just the battery because cars are fickeled and can just die at any time and with no rhyme or reason. Good luck Maybe you should add the state you live in and the kind of car. That will help.

most likely the battery but it could have been another problem and you also killed the battery. If something like the fuel pump went it won't start. A quick way to check the fuel pump is to make sure the car's battery is charged then turn the key to the on position and listen for a hum by the fuel tank that will last about 2-3 seconds then stop. (if the car's not started the pump shuts back off) This will let you know if the pumps working or not, but if its working and just giving off low pressure

You may have drained the battery completely beyond boosting.
It take a great deal of juice to kick the engine over when starting.
If there is a clicking sound you starter is working just not firing over the engine, then again your starter might be worn. But you did also mention the radio is also no longer working which in my view points to battery. If you replace the battery you might want to have a electrical test done. I know it is costly and it might not be worth it for the car but you may also have another source draining the battery as well.

We purchase previous automobiles for all time and battery themes always arise. Heres are 2 ideas that could want to help keep it starting up & what it would want to correctly be. One automobile wasn't pushed interior the winters & if left it to lengthy without driving does no longer commence both. So each few days i might want to commence it for a jiffy. If I waited longer then that i might want to desire a bounce. i might want to easily try this if i change into you. yet another automobile does no longer commence & had to be jumped each morning. After paying for 3 new batteries we got here across out the Antenna change into the reason. one way or the different draining the battery. We disconnected the antenna and have not had a venture because. likely no longer what's causing your venture yet only a heads up that something small like that could want to correctly be what's incorrect.

Depending on what kind of car it is, could be anything. But on older cars the battery Hot wire goes to a silinod switch under the hood, which could make that clicking noise, if it has gone bad or not getting a full connection this may be the problem.

Sounds to me like you just killed your battery, plain and simple. Hopefully that's all there is to this problem--if your alternator is shot as well you're in for a very expensive repair!

Replace your battery, but take your car in for a full inspection as soon as you can. Even if the inspection turns up nothing, you'll have at least bought the peace of mind that your car isn't about to fall apart on you. :)

it is the battery. It may be old and not able to hold a charge anymore. We just had to replace our battery cause it was doing the same thing.
