It is nearly impossible for women with PCOS to lose weight without the help of Glucophage (aka metformin). It works best with a low carb diet and exercise. It is possible to lose as much as you really want. I've heard of women losing over 100lbs...but with a lot of work. Personally, I lost about 27lbs in less than 3 months (then I got pg) without really trying very hard. Make sure you also drink TONS of water. They say half your weight in ounces. So, if you weigh 200lbs...then you should drink 100oz. of water per day. Not realistic for everyone..but drink as much as you can (it will also help with the nasty GI side effects of Glucophage). Good luck.

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.
The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.

I was able to lose about 15 pounds on it. Without it, I couldn't lose anything. I take the extended release version, as there's less stomach upset. You lose weight because it helps to improve the insulin resistance and you can digest foods better. It also lowers glucose, insulin, and testosterone levels.
