I need to know if I can cash a money order at my local post office.

It depends what type of money order it is. If it is a canadian money order, then yes. All you have to do is telephone your local post office and ask them. Describe the type of money order it is, and they will tell you for sure.

If the post office issued the money order, then yes they will cash it.

Go to the post office and ask them that question...or call them. You didn't say what kind of money order...they'll probably need to know that.

If the MO is crossed it can only be paid into a bank account. If it is not crossed, your local PO should be able to cash it for you.

I don't think so. There may be a local check cashing business that will do it with identification. They will likely charge a small fee (small percentage).

I myself have a time or two. After all you can buy them there so why not cash them there?
