i have had an argument with my boyfriend over football, what should i do?

he supports newcastle and i support reading so i always take the mick that we are doing better than they are. i also find "howay the lads" very funny so i started laughing and saying how crap newcastle are and he said that reading are rubbish and that he hopes kevin doyle die! i personnally thought that it was uncalled for.

For the information of the flying scotsman, we are playing you on 28th april and we will win! at least we can beat newcastle!

I think you,re a very brave girl coming on here and letting us all know you,re going out with a geordie never mind we all have some sort of cross to bear in life, but if you want to get in his good books again tell him you agree that his club are the 8th biggest in the world as that is what all geordies like to hear, even though the only thing they,ve won in fifty years is some obscure mickey mouse trophy called the inter cities fairs cup, Oh! my appologies, more recently they won a cup coveted by the other seven big clubs Man u, L/pool Arsenal Barca et al, the inter toto cup.Also tell him that you hope they succeed in aquiring the striker they want, because only today their big world renowned manager said that although

EDIT: Okay, if you call Newcastle crap, then he has every right to call Reading rubbish. It wasn't uncalled for, because you're the one who spoke first.

I say, just get on with it...Football should have nothing to do with the way you feel towards your boyfriend...If you love each other, then that is all that should matter.

Of course you both are going to have your differences, like the team you support, but in all honesty, stuff like that will only strengthen your relationship because 1) you learn more about how the other is feeling and therefore more about each other and 2) if you can get past your differences because you care for one another, then your love is stronger than any of those things you've fought about.
