You must be really Dumb not to know this and take some of the ansnwers here as the truth, which is bull, Martyrs are people who give their LIFE for the love of their family and religion, and to make prevail in what they beleive in, if An enemy is attacking ur family and the onky way for family to survive and rid of ememy is to kill urself , then so be it, tats what is beign called Martyr is, if ur ancesters or indeed some of other people;s ancesters did not become martyrs then u wud not be here today, have respect for them, and peace."

Christian martyrs died holding fast to their beliefs regardless of the consequences. Devotion and fatih which are rarely seen in todays society. They truely believed in Christ and were willing to die for their beliefs. Nearly all of them were faithful and loyal to Rome, but refused to worship the emperor, this is what happened to the St. Maurice, and many other christian roman soldiers. Be careful to note that Christian martyrs died as political prisoners, for the most part they never sought martyrdom.
