Why is it so many people come on here just to ask how to become a hacker? It really isn't that hard to do a google search, and if people are seriously that lazy not to do any work at all themselves, there isn't really much of a chance they will ever learn past what a static variable is in programming terms, or even running under a unix operating system. Furthermore, why is hacking so cool anyway? Its work just like anything else, you only get out what you put in, and it isn't about getting unauthorized access to systems (that is cracking). Regardless of the ignorance of other people, hopefully some of the people that will continue to ask, will click the link below so they can give up faster.

Regardless of how ignorant people are, I blame the media for all this crap. Being called a hacker used to show that you respected someone enough to acknowledge what they have done for the hacker community, go look at how the first open source versions of linux were started or remember when Apple said that was impossible to run a windows operating system on their hardware? Well a clever hacker came up with a solution, don't believe me?

I think this unfortunately has something to do with the Internet being associated with hacking... In people's minds, generally speaking, hackers use the Internet (or something to that effect), so it makes sense, if you wanted to know something about hacking, to get on the Internet.
While one can not fault the layman for blurting out the question in public, even thou the experienced user considers this the wrong territory, only experience teaches us this.
Meanwhile, although I find it sad that people associate the Internet with hacking, the huge amounts of phishing emails and other related behavior isn't helping much.
