Why are people rebuilding in New Orleans in the same spots that were heavily damaged? Isn't that just another disaster waiting to happen.

The genocide in Darfur is a serious concern
I have tons of ideas- I'll give you the winning ones

Following a bounty hunter while he captures bail jumpers
Myra- the black teenager from Haiti that had a 15 lb. tumor removed from her face
Revisiting the Black Panthers after 30 years (at one time they were considered a terrorist group and that ties in with current events)
Spend one month with an Middle East family to see how daily life really affects them since 911
Illegal Immigrants/ Minuteman Project
Race Relations are always sure fire winners for short doc projects
GOOD LUCK!!!

...What's wrong with the 'No Child Left Behind' law?...
points: *blames teachers but does not address social issues
*takes funding away from schools that do not meet
standards,
but these are the very schools that need more help. They
can't afford programs to help students who need help
meeting standards.
* The best teachers are not going to want to work in school
districts where there are high numbers of ESL students,
and special education students, because these are the
school districts where test scores are most
likely to not meet standards. Even though there are other
issues involved, the teachers will be held responsible.
* Should teacher performance pay be based on these test
scores, when test scores may have nothing to do with
how good the teacher is?
...To sum up, 'No Child Left Behind' is a fine name for a
flawed policy...

Yeah. There is so much being made of "Greenpeace". You know, global warming. So take a trip down to your local landfill and check-out all the things being buried in our land. It's amazing how waste full. Aluminum can be recycled forever, and its being buried one can at a time by the ton. That is just one item. Copper is bringing a premium price right now. Especially now the Bush needs bullets. That is being buried as well.

There's my idea. I hope you write an intelligent, and interesting documentary.

Profile people who choose careers in which they believe they are "making a difference": teachers, social workers, etc. They have chosen intangible rewards over wealth, and often work very hard without receiving much gratitude.

Homeless people and their pets: UC Davis Veterinary medicine interns provide free vet care for homeless people's pets--would make a great documentary.

A week in the life of a medical intern.

The war in Iraq and the ever-changing reasons for war: use old news footage and interview people on the streets for differing perspectives as well as those who served in Congress at the time.

The drug industry: profits vs. affordable care.

So many ideas--all the best to you!
