The formula to find the volume of any pyramid is Area = (1/3)Bh, where "B" is the area of the base and h is the height. So in this case, the volume would be Ah/3.

The formula actually works no matter what shape the base is, even if it's a circle in which case the shape would be a cone. You can derive the formula using some calculus (integrate the area of a polygon that changes with the height), or see how the ancient Greeks figured it out in Euclid's "Elements", where they basically showed that you can break a prism up into 3 equal pyramids.

The volume of any pyramid is V=1/3Bh, where B is the area of the base and h is the height of the pyramid. It doesn't matter what the shape of the base is as long as you know its area. It could be a triamgle, a square , a rectangle, a pentagon, etc.

V = 1/3(area base) (height)

The area of a pyramid is 1/3 Area of base * height, so in your case:

(A*h)/3
