WE are so backwards as I see it right now. I think We are far over due for a female or minority in the office of President. If you dissagree can you explain why a woman or minority are not intelligent enough to hold this office?

Of course you vote for the person because you believe they can do the job! That should go without saying! For crying out loud! All I am trying to say is don't keep your vote away because of a persons race or gender.

i actually agree that our nation is due a minority president. its time to get a different prespective from the leadership. personally, im campaigning for barack obama, but if hillary gets the nomination, ill all for clinton '08! i just like obama's charasma though...either way, i feel that we will have a minority in office in '08, and i will be thrilled, even as a white male.

It depends on the candidate. To be honest, I don't think I would be too upset of Obama was elected, but I would have a great amount of hesitation and fear if Hillary Clinton was elected.

I know both of them are liberals (just looking at their voting records), however I don't trust Hillary would be able to implement policies that are right for the country (especially if there is not a Republican Congress that would counterbalance that).

Obama at least talks some moderate game.

During Hillary's husband's term of office you had the GOP check in the Congress ... but under a 100% Democrat government ... just not sure.

Why should we vote for someone just because they are female or a minority? That's utter nonsense, like saying, "Well, it's the woman's turn to be President".

What's wrong with electing the best candidate regardless of race, ethnicity or gender? That's who gets my vote, so long as they share my view on issues.

I will not be disappointed at a woman or minority president if it is the right person for the job. I do not believe Hillary is the right one.
I believe there is no intellectual difference based on gender or race.

As I see it, at this point it should be no big deal.
With the number of female senators, govenors and business leaders, the once glass ceiling has been broken so many times that it's no longer a significant issue.

It will still be a milestone for the US, but nobody would say that Maggy Thatcher didn't have balls.

For most people, it has nothing to do with race or gender. People don't like Hillary because they disagree with her politics, and people don't like Obama because they disagree with his politics and he's inexperienced.

But, I'd love to see a minority President. Colin Powell.

A female president or another minority? No. That would NOT disappoint me in the least.

However, I'd be terrible, depressingly disappointed if Bush/Cheney declare Martial Law (which they could do) and suspend the 2008 elections because of some "terrorist act" that makes 9/11 look like Sunday at church and then send all the dissidents and protestors to concentration camps being built in the midwest and southern states even as you read this. THAT would disappoint me and really ruin my day.

I have no problem with a woman or a minority as president...I have a problem with Hillary Clinton and That Socialist idiot Barack Hussein Obama. I don't agree with anything they stand for.

How about both, I would love to have Condoleezza Rice as President. She is the most qualified PERSON for the job. It shouldn't matter what your race or gender is.

Overdue???

How about electing who we feel is right for the job, rather than just baselessly selecting someone because they are female or a minority?

It will happen when the right candidate is before the American people.
