Why do we have that "groove" under our noses, you know, right above our lips?

It's a seam where your body comes together when you were forming as a fetus. The two halves started growing, and then they met in the middle. If you look closely, there are "grooves" and lines in other places on your body for the same reason (scrotum has a line down the middle).

When the two halves of the body fail to come together properly, you get things like a cleft chin, or problems like a cleft lip/palate or spina bifida.
