I think its the same thing as SARS. They touted SARS as if it were some new black death and then suddenly all media coverage disappeared. We were not sufficiently frightened by it so they took it away!

Yes. We are all about 'what ifs'. Like, what if it mutated. Well, what if normal flus mutate? Danger is all around us. The media latched onto some crackpot's theories, and the populace ran with it. What if cancer mutates and becomes a disease that turns you into a zombie! Oh no! RUN!

The SARS virus has been contained in the places where it was initially a concern. However, the bird flu virus is still very much in attention. The disease still causes high concern worldwide. There are new outbreaks signalled regularly in different parts of the world, even where it was believed that the disease had been contained before. It is believed that bird flu will continue to be a threat to mankind for at least a few years to come, as at any moment it could mutate into a new form of the virus, that will be very difficult to combat and treat.

I think Bird Flu, as with SARS is a big deal. Not here in the US...but there are huge outbreaks in other parts of the world. SARS just never made it to the US....thats why it disappeared in our media. Just hope Bird Flu is the same way. Just because its not here does not mean it nonsense in other parts of the world.

There are roughly 15 Billion Chickens and Ducks in China, ever since they started to vaccinate every bird the things cooled down. This is no nonsense If the virus had evolved or mutated itself to infect and transmitted by the humans then it would have been a lot of trouble. Also look at the Logistics of getting rid of 15 Billion birds in a short time .

This explains 'mob mentality.' The how and why human beings could be 'made' to maintain on with like sheep. Too short to make sense I worry yet final analysis is.. I see reality.

Well, we should thank our lucky stars that the Asians nipped SARS in the bud. I don't think you would be thinking that way if it were here in the US.

It's only potential for now. If it actually develops as a new virus than can spread human to human, then it will be no joke!
