He got the ovation bacause we are in the hottest economy in the history of the country and the DJIA is at unprecedented heights with no end in sight.

The President of the United States always gets a standing ovation. It is how we honor the title. It is like in UK when the Queen is introduced, she gets a standing ovation even by people who do not like the monarchy because it is proper protocol.

So it has nothing to do with whether one likes or dislikes the person holding the title it is the title that is being so honored when a standing ovation is given in this way.

I don't know why... maybe because he finally learned how to spell "NYSE."

And why is it the Liberals on Yahoo! Answers have no meaningful jobs? I'm a Liberal, I'm gainfully employed in a full-time job, and I don't post one tenth as much as you do... so what does that say about you?

Other than the fact that you're a complete as*hole I mean...
