I just started working for a large financial firm 3 months ago and hit my quarterly bonus which was about 1/4 of my total salary.

My company is going to withhold this money from me because I was still in the probationary employment period (90 days) when I achieved this bonus.

Should that matter or is it even legal?

The point is that I hit all my sales numbers and deserve this bonus. What should I do? I am very angry about all of this.

Most companies do have in their employment policy that an employee is not entitled to any bonuses or benefits during the probation period. They will have to have this in writing where you signed and acknowledged this by signing it. If you did not sign or they do not have it in writing, you might have a case. If you made your bonus in the first 3 months of your employment, this is remarkable, you will be a great asset to the company and you will be bringing in future bonuses on a regular basis.

They can do that if it was before your 90th day . they can hold out until 91 days to start totalling how much u could get for the next bonus. You could go eleswhere to work but can you make what you are making there eleswhere?

What is the company policy? This is a common policy for new employees for most large companies. You should check your employment contract or policy.

feels like for a year you have been fronting to maintain the expenses down and you're VERY fortunate you weren't the two found out as you're able to the two be dealing with fraud costs and you're able to have 6 factors for no coverage. you will no longer get the NCD as you only get that on your coverage and now you start up as a clean motive force so anticipate very severe costs.

Ask them politely to show you where it was stated that you don't get bonuses in your probation period. It was probably stated in something you signed. If not, then you have a case.
