If its OK to get drunk off Baileys and Guinness on St. Patricks Day (even though its in the middle of Lent), and its OK to get Drunk off Corona and Tequila on Cinco de Mayo, why is it so offensive to get drunk off Malt Liquor and Blast Hip Hop on MLK Birthday? And would it be less offensive to get drunk off Red Stripe, Harar Stout, Tedj and other remotely Black-owned beverages?

Well first of all that is the way the Irish American culture celebrates St. Patricks Day. True Hispanic Americans don't celebrate Cinco de Mayo by going out and getting drunk off Tequila, so why would you think it to be acceptable to celebrate cultural unity be drinking 40's and playing Hip Hop. Hip Hop wasn't even around when Dr. King was alive. Further more his legacy should not be honored by getting drunk or whatever. That's not what celebrating that day is all about.
