l think kids at school are pushed to hard.

In a way there is. The pressure is definitely there. But unfortunately I think they're necessary.

It's getting harder and harder to get a good job nowadays, courses are offered on all sorts of things and people can come from educated backgrounds abroad and fill labour gaps. With manual labour jobs shrinking in number, more and more service-based jobs and intellect are required in the workplace.

The only way of employers differentiating between candidates might come down to GCSE's in the end. As unlikely as this is usually because normally A levels and degree results are far more important an indicator, but not everyone gets A-levels or degrees. GCSE's can be all someone has.

As much of a drag it makes it at 15-16 years of age, studying for those exams, they are important. And for the sake of a few months pressure (over a lifetime of better earnings). It's really in kids best interests.

Too many subjects too little time to teach them far too much red tape. It was better with the CSE, O & A level you had the three Rs and a few other subjects. Electronice resistant materials etc you went to college for three years (like I did) and specialised and got a job during the summer holidays in your chosen field if you were lucky. It was a lot easier.
I have 3 children who have done it and did not envy them just glad that we could help them when if and when they needed it. Good luck to all 15 and 16 year olds.

Not in the least, 16 is old enough to take on many responsibilities, you can marry at 16, work full time, don't you think that if you can do these things you should also know something about the world?

Definitely. When undertaking GCSEs, young people feel under alot of pressure and are made to feel like the GCSEs are very important. I remember feeling like that about my GCSEs but since them I have rarely ever had to state them, they do not mean that much now!

YES!! I'm in my GCSE year and I have at least 3 tests/exams every week! We also get homework that takes forever, it seems as if schools want to get rid of social lives!!! hehe

Well, kids on15-16 are not too young, they have their loong holidays and so ı think, to have an exam coming in the future makes them, study more, learn more and makes them try to be the best..Otherwise kids who have to much free time which is ,I think ,very bad for them...
