My grandfather asked me and I did not know the answer and I would like to be able to tell him how, since most of our conversations consist of wacky material such as this,lol. Thanks

There are tiny pores in birds eggs. When they try to control the population of some birds, they oil the eggs, basically suffocating them.

I assume you are referring to eggs. When an embryo is encased in an egg, the embryo gets nourishment and oxygen from inside the egg. This varies from species to species. In species that give live birth, oxygenated blood is provided by the mother's blood though an interface such as the placenta. In eggs, there is usually an internal organ-like structure that provides oxygenated blood to the developing embryo.
