Hey dude,
Having played basketball for over 30yrs, i would say injuries to the fingers are quite common, however because of the constant impact that's involved, i would also imagine that the ligaments that support the knees tend to rupture or snap quite frequently though this will normally happen over years rather than days or weeks. On a funny note though, i've broke my nose, twisted both of my ankles whilst landing from a height, i've been head butted, (accidentally of course), and jarred my back for some 7 months or so, but it is my second sporting passion though.
Hope my answer was a little useful to you mate. Take care and be well .... Michael

Well I think it depends on the skill level you have in the sport. Inexperienced players or people who just picked up the sport usually get hit in the face or get their fingers hurt because they lack ball awareness, advanced players and pros get their ankles sprained a lot on rebounding especially if they don't warp up right. More advanced players, after playing a while in pro divisions get weak knees and tend to break ligaments or meniscus or get them shredded. But the most common I think is the ankle sprain. I know I had it about five times now.

1. Knee problems - Torn ACLs, MCLs. Cartilage problems and Tendinitis, etc.
2. Sprained ankles

sprained ankle should be the most common, followed by dementia (people who think they're Michael Jordan).
