Don't take love songs and delude yourself. I'm gonna love you forever and ever, you're the woman of my dreams, blah blah blah. It isn't real. Love isn't like that. It's about give and take, sacrifice, loving someone and sticking by them when things are at their worst and you both feel miserable. Only true love will see you through times like these, and they're hard and they're painful. Wine and roses, stars and love songs are nice, but no Prince Charming stays that way, because he's a fairy tale. I just want to give you a heads up and maybe help to prevent a broken heart or two. I think, as a whole, women have a greater understanding of this than men do. Women are more willing to accept us, flaws and all, and we're the ones looking for eternal youth and beauty in our mates. Women deserve a lot of credit for putting up with their less-than-perfect mates! Thank you for the one who puts up with me.

That is 100% true and amazing! It's not about a man rescuing you from your prostitute life (Pretty Woman) or about Prince Charming sweeping you off your feet and taking you away from your horrible family (Disney movies).... it's about finding that unconditional love. Actually finding yourself drawn to one person for the rest of your life, someone you want to work out every problem with because you can't picture your life without them.

I believe that too. It is just hard to accept that love isn't all about romance and your perfect expectations, not poetry but more prose like. Anyway, it is supremely cute that you want to warn us ; )

i so agreee with adien...we women put up more with the man and all his flaws..when the man is always looking for something else..love is about up and downs and over coming it..nice i really like that some thinks the way i do......
