Desktop icon are shourtcuts to applications on your pc
They save time
Do not use up RAM
Can look very pretty
You can delete them

desktop icons are the thing and folder and other stuff that is on ur desktop...... u can put thing on ther by either dragging it to it or saving it to desktop... the desktop icons are almost like shortcuts!!! well thanks

This place has abunch of little icons and things you can download/save, but beware- pop-city.

it is aprototype of your installed program if you click desktop shortcut icon then it call its original location or real path.and your program is execute
