With out birth times and locations there is a limit to knowing.

Any two signs can be compatible if they are willing to work at. Knowing the time and location of birth you can figure out the moon and rising sign and add that to the info to find out compatability.

May 2 makes one a Taurus, and Jan 5 makes the other a Capricorn. Both signs can be very stubborn, but both have some common ground, both being earth signs. Cap is the cardinal sign and so will often tend to be the bossier one, while Taurus is a fixed sign and so can be fixed and unmovable at times.

Both signs are known for the dependablity, and also for their need to be financially secure. Both seem to have good sense of humor though different. I know that you probably don't want to hear this but the age difference is probably a factor, not the astrological factors. I think that astrologically you may be compatible. But, age will probably get in the way. You are from 2 different time periods.
