the only hobart i can think of is in australia, i take it you don't mean stockport uk? if you do it's about 12000 miles? give or take a couple of thousand based on the circumfereence of the earth being about 25000 miles?

not sure about that, but i think it's nearly right...

let me know if anybody knows any different...

about 8000 miles if you go straight through the core?

There aren't any buses from Stockport to Hobart, but you may be able to get a train. If I was you, take a packed lunch and some clean underwear. It's not close!
