I have an .avi video that's about 20 mins long that I want to convert into a .wav sound file. I only want the sound to play, like a recording so I can put it on a CD-R. What program do I need? How can I do this?

Also I have windows xp if that helps.
Thank you.

As Alexandra mentioned http://www.videohelp.com is an excellent place for this type of info.

Go there and download "VirtualDub" from the "Tools" section. This is a free programme. When you load your AVI into "VirtualDub" there will be an option to save the audio as a WAV file.
