Yes but looking back, it all started to go downhill with the "millennium bug" scare ( remember IT) and then the world just seemed to go mad when the war started.
Just try negotiating the security at Charles De Gaulle Airport and then tell me the war on terror has not affected your life!

Only in so much as it has made me realize how cosseted and delusional we all are. The war on terror allows are government to bring in more and more Draconian laws to control, guess who, us!
If I lived in Baghdad I think I would understand terror, or if I had fought as a soldier in any one of the ghastly wars that have littered history. Apart form those personally affected by the bombings of 7/7, either directly or indirectly, none of us in the west really understand 'terror' at all. We are happy to sit back and let our own armed forces go and fight our illegal wars for us. But we only have to see a hooded teenager on a street corner, twiddling his thumbs, and we are all rushing into therapy.

Yes, every time I go to New York, 911 comes to mind when I see the hole in the skyline where the twin towers once were. And then the realization that we are fighting a bogus war instead of looking for the terrorists that brought down the towers hits me, and I can't help but feel scared that this could happen again.

the two on an equivalent scale. As non-american, i`m seeing what it does with friends. Airline protection measures impacts daily worldwide return and forth everywhere, and is a right away bring about this warfare on terror. even nonetheless, using warfare, costs bypass up, and individuals are looking it confusing to pay all the expenditures.. so i`d say that the upward push in debt is partly brought about and maintained by way of the warfare on terror. for my area, i think of that all and sundry countries could bypass away places like Iraq and Afghanistan, and bypass away them to restoration their very own problems. it is amazingly glaring maximum don`t desire ' us ' (the western infantrymen) , purely the money... supply up the money flowing to there - spend it at residing house!

Yes, with never ending anxiety. My son served in Iraq and is now in Afghanistan. I'm sure that anyone with a relative in the armed services feels the same way. The muslim fanatics are despicable and Tony Blair is just as bad.

We've been lucky that it hasn't hurt us as a family directly-and I keep my fingers crossed that it won't.
Whether we like it or not we are all affected by the continuing conflict and it's consequences-anyone who thinks otherwise is sadly mistaken.

Yes, my cousin is in the Marines and volunteered to go to Afghanistan, naturally the whole family was worried about him. Thank God he came back safe and in one piece. Sadly, some of his fellow Marines weren't so lucky. He survived a roadside bomb, but his friend who was driving wasn't so lucky.

Yes. I work with returning vets to help them find jobs in civillian life. If you want to feel good about this country sit down with one of these young vets....in fact sit down with any veteran of any generation and find out what makes them tick. The country should thank them every day for their sacrifices and dedication.

I find that some people in the UK are more racist than they were before. It does not directly affect me but it does sadden me that people are turning on their friends of different faiths and appearances rather than unite against terrorism.
My sister was in the World Trade Centre less than a day before the Sept 11th attack so my family were very lucky that day. Very lucky indeed and I am very thankful.
